Peter Rabbit: the little paper-mache sculpture

Who hasn’t fallen in love with the characters of Beatrix Potter? Peter Rabbit, the mischievous, adventurous young rabbit with the blue jacket, cannot help but steal your heart!

This one of a kind paper sculpture has been crafted with as much love and care as this little fellow deserves, and I honestly hope it pays tribute to the original character ❤️ Peter has been a faithful friend of little and adult children for generations and generations… Making him extra cute was a must and personally when I look at him, I can’t help but smile 😊

Making a paper sculpture takes a loooot of time. There are several layers of materials added one upon another, which need several days to dry in between. Challenges arise all the time as to how to create his face, his fur and his clothes, so in a process so long, you cannot help but bond! I just realized I’ve been working on this little guy since December! I’m uploading a few process photos right below and a little video of making him, for the avid crafter in you 😃:

For anyone who wishes to adopt Peter, I hope you will give him a loving, warm and sunny home, because even though made of paper, he does have a soul!

He can just as well decorate a child’s bedroom and also nest inside an adult’s personal collection, but mind you: he’s not a toy! He’s meant to be looked at and serve as a reminder of things noble and fun 😄!

Hope he brings a smile on your face! And why not take a minute and read once again the favorite story that started it all? You can find a little online copy here: https://americanliterature.com/author/beatrix-potter/short-story/the-tale-of-peter-rabbit

Till next time…
